Gable To Gable

Located in Otatara Invercargill this house was designed with simplicity and elegance in mind. A simple and clean palette of materials complement each other well and has also been expressed on the internal finishes which creates texture and warmth. Dark painted James Hardie Axon Panel and natural finished vertical cedar weatherboards was used to achieve this.
The two gable forms are broken with a low pitch link roof that creates the entrance to the home.

Creating a home with a point of difference was something the clients wanted to achieve but still have that function any family home needs. With a great eye for detail the clients drove the interior design and styling of the home and were not afraid to push the envelope and see things through. Exposed concrete floors, with a well glazed north façade, allows for some passive design principles to be achieved and is complemented with the cedar cladding seamlessly moving from the outside and wrapping the entrance/kitchen walls.
